These are my links for February 10th through February 13th:
- How the left elevated Lieberman – Haaretz – Israel News – An interesting analysis of the growth of fascism—neither left nor right—in Israel. It is also notable for being one of the few articles to mention (if only obliquely) that Lieberman’s campaign slogan of “no citizenship without loyalty” applies equally well to Haredi Jews as to the Israeli Arabs that are widely understood to be his target.
- Obama fails his first test on civil liberties and accountability — resoundingly and disgracefully – Glenn Greenwald – Salon.com – This sort of thing makes me worried about the future of the crow as a species, what with the millions of Obama supporters who will now be eating them.
- With friends like these … Tom Hodgkinson on the politics of the people behind Facebook | Technology | The Guardian – Facebook sucks…but friend me!
- Randall Amster: A Googlement Above the People, Around the People, and Ahead of the People – A humorous critical examination of Google’s growing omniscience
- Van Spirits Away Protester in Egypt, Signaling Crackdown on Criticism Over Gaza – NYTimes.com – The New York Times does something right: “What is the secret behind the interest of The New York Times in Philip? Are you working for human rights organizations?” This from an Egyptian General
You no what I like about you? You actually think about stuff. We might disagree on things but I know there’s some thought behind your opinions.
Thanks, Kirk. We should make sure to hang out when our paths next cross. Am I remembering correctly that the next NACCCs is in Boston? Depending on the timing, I imagine I’ll be there. I’m back in the US by August.
Well I don’t think we’ll be going to NACCC (it is in Boston) and Tokyo I’m most likely not going to either but maybe ECMC. Our travel plans are kind of ify because we want/need to do some stuff to the house. This bouji home owner shit is getting on my nerves….
